The Mobile Version of Genshin Impact’s Accumulative Income Exceeds IDR 43.5 Trillion

10, Jakarta – Genshin Impact has accumulated more than USD 3 billion in revenue or around IDR 43.5 trillion from player spending globally on the App Store and Google Play.

The income value is calculated since its official launch on September 28, 2020. According to data from the market research company for the mobile application Sensor Tower.

Post-launch, it took Genshin Impact just 171 days to generate its first $1 billion from the App Store and Google Play. In fact, that value doesn’t include spending through third-party Android app stores.

“Genshin Imapct earns an average of USD 1 billion every six months, making it one of the mobile games most successful of all time,” said Sensor Tower.

China is a major contributor to Genshin Impact’s revenue. Players in the country made USD 973.3 million to date or about 30.7 percent of total global player spending. That’s only in the iOS ecosystem only.

“Japan ranks second with 23.7 percent of revenue, while the United States ranks third with 19.7 percent,” said Sensor Tower.

In general, while Genshin Impact is a global success, the mobile game generates most of its revenue in the Asian region, which accounts for nearly 70 percent of total player spending to date.

The App Store accounts for the largest share of player spending with 65.7 percent of total revenue, of which the majority comes from iOS in China. Google Play, meanwhile, accounts for 34.3 percent of total player spending.

Outside of China, the revenue share of these two platforms is relatively the same; iOS contributed 50.5 percent, while Google Play contributed 49.5 percent.
