1. Virtual RAM Concept For Windows

In this method, we will use virtual memory to convert drive space as RAM. Follow some simple steps given below.

  • First of all, insert your Pen Drive or Pendrive. Right click on ‘This PC’ and select ‘Properties’Â
  • On the System page, click on ‘Advanced system settings’Â
  • Now select the ‘Advanced’ tab and then click on ‘Settings’ under Performance.
  • Once again a new window will appear then click on the Advanced Tab.
  • In the advanced tab, click the ‘Change’ button under ‘Virtual Memory’
  • Now uncheck the Automatically Manage Page Size feature box. Then in Custom Size, enter the size you want to allocate as virtual memory. Now add the same value in both boxes and click Apply button.
  • Note: Always add 10 MB less than the total available space. For example, if you have a 4GB Pendrive and the currently available space is 3700 Mb, use 3690 for device security.
  • If you want to revert your changes, just enable the options Automatically manage paging file size for all drives’
  • Once done, Now restart your PC or laptop to enable Virtual RAM.

2. Using ReadyBoost In Windows 7, 8, 10

The latest versions of the Windows operating system have a feature known as ‘ReadyBoost’. This feature speeds up the Kakian system by making use of the available space. Here’s how to use ReadyBoost to use Flashdisk as RAM memory.

  • First, insert your Pendrive, Now right click on your drive and Go to Properties,
  • Now you have to open the ReadyBoost Tab .
  • Then select ‘Use this device’ and reduce your current memory space. If your device’s current place is 4100MB, then reduce it by around 200-300MB.
  • Then click the Apply button and all is done.
  • If you want to revert your changes, just enable the ‘Don’t use device’ option
