Check the Latest Google Maps Features, Immersive Mode and Live View Features

11, Jakarta – Google has just announced several new features for Google Maps. Among them are Immersive Mode, which can make you feel like in the map, a feature to show environmentally friendly routes, and a Live View feature.

Google Maps will soon be offering what can be called Immersive Mode in several major cities around the world. With this mode you’ll be able to quickly understand what it’s like in that location.

As well as preparing for a trip or simply finding hidden local gems, Immersive Mode will let you really immerse yourself in an environment.

You’ll be able to check locations at different times and weather conditions and explore local restaurants virtually for interior designs and other useful information about the destination.

Another interesting thing, this feature can immediately remind us of Apple Maps Flyover, which also allows you to feel like flying over a certain location. However, the implementation from Google seems a bit more useful.

Google Maps’ Immersive Mode will launch later this year. However, this update cannot be used for all cities around the world. For starters, Immersive Mode will launch in Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo.

Google Maps is also expanding its eco-friendly route feature to Europe. This feature allows the user to choose a more environmentally friendly route whenever possible by selecting the most fuel efficient route.

Since rolling out across the United States (US) and Canada, the feature has reportedly been able to prevent more than “half a million metric tons of carbon emissions” from being released into the atmosphere.
